The Plan: represents the development space around the building. This spatial articulation defines the relationship to the visitor, to the building itself, to the street and, to the urban context. It communicates the way site and landscape can be utilized to represent an image and a developments’ significance within the urban context of Pudong, Shanghai.

Landscape as a spatial delineator: speaks to the systematic way the design is approached. The landscape serves as a device to frame and define the spatial relationship to the ground plane. Landscape planting creates a series of layered textures that use colors and form to delineate the edges, define the circulation and create outdoor rooms.

Landscape building precinct: is represented simply by the use of the paving on the ground plan. The rich texture and color of granite is used to define the public spaces, circulation space and garden space. The use of this material and patterning creates a strong relationship between the interior lobby and the exterior landscape space.

Building Precinct as Garden: The complete landscape design for considers all aspects of the site and building. It is designed to complement the architecture but is also to be a landscape work that can be seen and experienced on its own. By integrating aesthetics and purifying the design, a garden is created by the articulation of each space, element and architecture. The close collaboration between architect and landscape architect enhance the design and integrity of this development.
