2021 Guangxi, China

Liuzhou Jinglan Bay Waterfront

Gallery

The project is located along the Liu River within the city of Liuzhou. It is situated in the dramatic natural karst landscape of Guangxi Zhuang province. The project is positioned within the new Recreational Business District (RBC) that draws on the natural beauty and resources of Liuzhou and brings in the concepts of urban vitality through an active healthy lifestyle. The total site landscape area is approximately 44 HA consisting of commercial and residential development surrounding artificial lake and a new waterfront park that incorporates an existing international water sports facility. This dynamic development mix creates a new vision for recreational water sports inspired developments.

The design concepts are deeply rooted in the cultural natural history and its ecology. The developments are focused on creating a new mix of residential, commercial, and recreational architectural typologies that are organized to maximize active urban landscape spaces. The waterfront park, in turn serves to create active and passive recreational spaces that allow for water sport activities and events as well as other sports related programming.   The goal is to create a landscape that is developed for daily, special events  and year around activities.
