A Tale Of Two Cities: Hong Kong And Shenzhen
AIA Hong Kong is excited to announce the second event of its 25th Anniversary Symposium: Connectivity and Placemaking in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Jointly organized with AECOM, the symposium includes webinars, talks and seminars to provoke thought and provide insight into the urban planning and development of the GBA.
Event 2: A Tale of Two Cities: Hong Kong and Shenzhen will discuss infrastructure changes and their influence on urban planning and development in the north of Hong Kong and the downtown area of Shenzhen, where our rural countryside is rapidly becoming urbanized and the border between the two cities is disappearing, which is unlocking monumental new opportunities.
We are honored to have Prof. Laurence Liauw (HKU), Dr David Gallacher (AECOM), Mr Anthony Cheung (Ronald Lu & Partners), and Ms Pearl Hui (AECOM) joining our second event. During this in-person talk and webinar, the four speakers will share their experience in Greater Bay Area urban planning – from Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) to the Northern Metropolis Development Strategy that has been crucial to achieve proper planning of this region. Smart City and City Resilience / Ecology Challenges will also be covered as Hong Kong and Shenzhen work together as Twin Cities.
This event will be moderated by Mr Rex Wong, AIA, CEO of Kum Shing Group and Past President of AIA Hong Kong (2017).
