Biography
David is a renowned award-winning landscape architect. He is responsible for Landscape Architectural practice in Asia. David is a professional Landscape Architect registered in California with over 30 years of professional design and management experience. He currently leads the design practice working on key projects throughout the Asia Region. David is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
He is dedicated to his practice and working closely with clients to craft high quality innovative projects. David believes in the importance of design and its role in making the world a better place. He believes that designing good projects is an imperative to creating more livable, vibrant, and beautiful environments.
His approach to practice and design are rooted in his experiences. David growing up in Los Angeles and spent most of his life in California. He studied landscape architecture at both Cal Poly and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. His has a master’s degree in landscape architecture from Harvard University, Graduate School of Design. Throughout his life, his exposure to design, art, ecology, and the creative process has influenced his understanding and conception of the aesthetic and critical thinking.
David has a wide-ranging portfolio of managing practice, offices, and teams to projects. However, designing projects from vision to reality is paramount to his professional process. He is a hands-on practitioner managing, designing, and implementing a diverse portfolio of signature projects. His broad experience focuses on projects ranging from public realm, landscape master plans to sustainable and ecological urbanism, to large scale development and site-specific detailed design. His knowledge and experience working on multi-disciplinary projects has given him the opportunity to take a broader perspective on landscape architecture while focusing his practice on design driven site-specific systems and processes and key conceptual drivers integrating culture, history, ecological processes, and economics within a project’s context. His work strives for excellence and in the importance of craft in defining projects. By understanding and synthesizing complex issues, he can develop elegant design solutions to create well-crafted transformative landscapes.
With his global experience, David looks for opportunities to transform and create new possibilities. His experience and role have allowed him to expand on pushing the boundaries of the field and practice into areas of innovation, sustainability, and social environments to promote the quality of design throughout Asia region.
